PURPOSE:To achieve a positive forecasting of earthquake, by supporting a diverging unit comprising an organic fiber such as hair of an animal or the like in the air while a sensitive terminal is buried underground. CONSTITUTION:An unglazed container 1 comprising a central chamber 3 and an outer chamber 4 divided by a partition 2 is filled with pure water and provided with a pointer 16 made of magnetic material and a scale plate 8. A diverging unit 18 comprising a coil-shaped organic fiber is connected to one end of a central organic fiber 17 running through almost the center of the scale plate 8 and the pointer 16 and supported in the air. A central sensitive terminal 19 comprising a coil-shaped organic fiber is connected to the other end of the fiber 17 and buried underground. Four amplifiers are arranged at an equal interval at a position where the pointer 16 is kept from touching in the central chamber 3 and organic fibers 11a-11d are connected thereto respectively while sensitive terminals 12a-12d comprising a coil-like organic fiber are connected to the other ends thereof buried either underground, underwater, under a tree, under a rock bed or the like. With such an arrangement, the flow of rock pressure magnetism is totally concentrated to the fiber 17 from the terminals 12a-12d, the amplifiers and the pointer 16. The pointer is turned according to a difference between a magnetic force like terrestrial line of magnetic force and the rock pressure thereby enabling the forecasting of earthquake.
