PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve forecasting an earthquake over a wide area in a low cost manner.;SOLUTION: An earthquake forecasting method comprises: a data collection step for collecting spatial radiation doses at measurement points periodically measured by using spatial radiation dose meters installed on grounds at the measurement points; an abnormal value detection step for detecting an abnormal value as a premonitory symptom of an earthquake at which value deviates against the average value of the spatial radiation doses of the periodical measurement; and a magnitude forecasting step for forecasting, based on the detected abnormal value and after the abnormal value detected, a distance to an epicenter of a possible earthquake and a magnitude of the earthquake in response to the abnormal value.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
