PURPOSE:To enable workers to be refuged safely and rescued at the time of an accident such as an burst of toxic gases, by providing a pressurizing equipment which pressurizes a refuge capsule at a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure so as to prevent the inflow of the outside air, and further providing a shower and a communication device or the like. CONSTITUTION:In the offshore base of a submarine oil field, if sulfur dioxide or the like bursts during the excavation of petroleum, workers run up to a refuge capsule 6 to depress a push button or switch. Then, a control unit H operates to open a valve, and air from air cylinders G is released from a nozzle I to maintain the pressure inside the refuge capsule 6 at a pressure higher than atmospheric pressure, so that the inflow of toxic gases into the refuge capsule 6 can be prevented. Meanwhile, workers open a door to enter a front room, and cleans each part of their body with a shower D and an eyewashing device E. Thereafter, workers draw a curtain to enter the inside of the refuge capsule 6, and inform their land base or the like of the occurrence of the accident and ask for rescue using a communication device K.
