In prodn. of a printed circuit panel, by appln. to an electrically insulating substrate of a material contg. metal nuclei, in a pattern, where the metal nuclei have a catalytic effect on the formation of a metal in an electroless metallising bath. A conducting metal layer is deposited in the desired pattern in an electroless metallising bath. The material contg. metal nuclei is a nucleating liq. which is applied as droplets by means of a spray-head which is displaced in the desired pattern w.r.t. the substrate.
