ABSTRACTA coating composition especially suitable for amachinable aluminum-filled coating possessing improved saltcorrosion and oxidation resistance having a liquid binder whichcomprises phosphate ions and ions of the group of chromate ormolybdate ions, and an atomized aluminum powder having anaverage particle size (as expressed in terms of the medianequivalent spherical diameter ?), that is greater than atleast 15µm, and having a size distribution such that at leastabout 5% of the particles by weight are retained on a 325 meshscreen, and the coatings and parts formed therewith.
