PERMANENTLY NON-DUSTING PIGMENT AND DYE PREPARATIONS, PROCESS FOR THEIR MANUFACTURE AND A MEASURING DEVICE THEREFOR

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA generally permanently non-dusting pigment anddye preparation containing the following dedusting agents:(a) 0.5 - 10% of a surface-active agent and(b) 2 to 25% of a substance (depending on the fineness,morphology and later use of the pigment and dyepreparation) which, after being mixed with the dry mixtureof pigment and surface-active substance with repeatedapplication of intensive shear stress, brings the mixtureto the smear point, the remainder of the preparationconsisting of the pigment or the dye. The preparation isobtained by adding to the filter sludge of the pigment orof the dye a suitable surface-active substance, ormixtures thereof, depending on the type of pigment or dyeand also on the respective application: then, followinghomogeneous distribution, the combination of pigment andsurface-active substance, possibly after it has beenisolated as a pressed cake, is dried and to the driedproduct is then added a liquid, flowable agent, or anagent which is liquid at a high temperature of 50°C ormore, which brings the mixture to the smear point when itis subjected to intensive shear stress; then mixing iscarried out while using intensive shear stress and theproduct is then granulated, if desired, in a known manner.
