ABSTRACTA process for the finish dressing of leathers dressed by a mineralor a combined method, by treatment with an aqueous solution ofwater-soluble polymer dressing substances that are polymers ofunsaturated monomers that contain sulfo groups. These polymerscontain, if necessary, additional basic units that do not affectthe water solubility, these being derived from comonomers that canbe copolymerized with the monomers that contain the sulfo groupsand which do not contain phosphorus.
