The system for neutralising boiler flue gas condensate comprises a vessel containing a chamber divided, by a horizontal partition, into a lower and an upper space whereby the lower space has a condensate inlet connection (5) and the upper space has an outlet at a level above the partition. The partition is porous and/or perforated (and carries a neutralising agent such as granulated dolomite), the arrangement being such that the condensate is moved upwards by pressure (mains water 16 injector 15). The partition may consist of a perforated wall carrying an, e.g. glass fibres, filter mat supporting the neutralising agent. USE/ADVANTAGE - Heating boiler with flue gas condensation (at e.g. 50 deg.C to maximise efficiency). The system requires no maintenance except occasional replacement of the agent and effectively neutralises H2SO3 and H2SO4 permitting discharge to the normal drain.
