Casting apparatus for the production of rapidly solidifying thin-walled objects

A description is given of a casting apparatus (10) for the production of rapidly solidifying thin-walled objects (36), the width of which is a multiple of their thickness (d). The casting apparatus (10) has a melting device (12) and a cooling support (14) onto which the material (26) melted in the melting device (12) is poured through openings (28) in a pouring member (18). The melted material (26) solidifies on the cooling support (14) at cooling rates of up to 106K/s. The pouring member (18) has a multiplicity of closely spaced openings (28) of small cross-section. This evens out the flow profile of the melted material (26) through the pouring member (18), with the result that the thin-walled object (36) solidified on the cooling support (14) has homogeneous properties over its entire width.
