A notch-type rear sight which is provided for stunning shooting weapons having a variable gas pressure has a plurality of aiming points located one above the other in the vertical direction. Each aiming point has allocated to it a numerical marking of the firing range and a numerical marking, corresponding to the respective firing range, for setting the gas pressure which is required for a specific impact energy of the round (projectile) on the target. In consequence, in the event of the firing range changing during the aiming process, the person firing can read off directly what gas pressure is required at the changed firing range in order that the impact energy of the round on the target remains constant. If, in contrast, it is intended to change the impact energy, for example in the case of immobilisation of animals of different size, then a plurality of notch-type rear sights, which can be interchanged quickly, are available having numerical markings corresponding to the relevant animal size or skin thickness.
