Optical communications system for narrow-band and broadband information signals, particularly in the local loop

In the system, the digital broadband signals are transmitted at wavelengths which are located within a "single-window fibre" (10) wavelength band optimised with respect to attentuation and bandwidths, and the digital narrow-band information signals are transmitted as wavelengths which are outside this band within a wavelength band not optimised for a signal transmission. Modifications of subscriber access networks, known per se, using this principle are also specified. IMAGE
