In the case of a vertically adjustable podium, in particular in the case of a scissors-type podium, for stages or the like, the invention provides a platform which comprises a frame and a floor covering which is received and fastened in the latter. Two mutually opposite frame portions are provided with plug-in holes for locking pins which are held braced in the locking position by means of springs. The locking pins can be released out of their locking position counter to the restoring action of the springs by means of locking-pin handles arranged beneath the platform, on diametrically opposite platform sides. A simple vertical-adjustment actuation of similar podia in a closed formation has become possible in that the floor covering can be at least partially detachably removed above each locking-pin actuation handle in order to form an opening through which the hand can grip. In addition to a means of access for the locking-pin handle, said opening also forms in each case a means of access for a frame-side undergripping surface which is spatially assigned to the locking-pin handle and serves to raise the platform.
