CONSTITUTION:A picture recorder 100 inputs first and second picture data D1 and D2 from a memory 500 of a layout system and pattern data P to express first and second original picture combination rules by these selections, A recording picture determining circuit 300 extracts the picture data to be allotted to respective recording picture elements from the original picture data based on the spatial corresponding relation of respective arrangement of the original picture element and the recording picture element. The extracted picture data are given through a multiplying accumulating circuit 450, a latch circuit 18, a YMCK YMC converting circuit 19 and D/A converters 20B, 20R and 20G to AOM 21B, 21R and 21G and the recording by the laser beam is executed.
