PURPOSE:To improve the electric contact and the durability, and to obtain a stable electric continuety, by setting the drying contraction rate of the thread- form core at a specific value, in a helical wire which consists of a conductive thread-form material and a thread of the core, used for an electrode wire. CONSTITUTION:A thermal contractible helical wire 1 consists of a thermal contractible core thread 2 and a sheath of a conductive thread-form material 3, and it is used for an electrode wire. The drying contraction rate of the core thread 2 at 180 deg.C, 10min is set 10% or higher. Since the helical wire 1 has a high thermal contraction rate, a gripping effect to grip the heating element strongly is demonstrated, by heat-treating is after arranging within a plane-form heating body, and a good electric contact and a stable electric continuety can be obtained.
