PURPOSE:To produce the pushing pin durable for the FRP forming operation at high pressure and high speed by a method in which after the steel bar with a specified composition has been machined into a specified shape and has been heat-treated, i.e. quenched and tempered, the outer peripheral surface of said bar is coated with titan nitride film. CONSTITUTION:The steel bar made of 0.045-0.9% C, 0.1-0.5% Si, 0.1-0.6% Mn, 3.5-5.0% Cr, 3.5-6.0 Mo, 1.0-7.0% W, 0.6-2.0% V, residual Fe and some impurities, is machined into the shape of specified push out pin, and is heat- treated, i.e. quenched and tempered, thereby obtaining the hardness of about HR60. Next, the sliding outer peripheral surface of this push out pin is coated with titan nitride film by ion plating method. As the obtained push out pin is excellent in anti-seizing property, abrasion resisting property and toughness, it is suitable for the push out pin at high pressure and high speed forming of reinforced plastic (FRP) containing glass fiber.
