IMMEDIATELY BELOW FLAME TYPE IGNITION FURNACE FOR MOVABLE GRATING TYPE SINTERING MACHINE AND OPERATION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To contrive the elongation of the life of an ignition furnace and the improvement of the productivity of a movable grating type sintering machine, by providing a cooling passage, integral with a steel skin, at the outer peripheral side of at least the lower opening of the steel skin. CONSTITUTION:Raw pellets 14, formed so as to have a predetermined grain size by adding fly ash with combustible carbon material and the binder of water, are put on a movable grating 13 of a movable grating type sintering machine while the movable grating 13 is transferred through a preheating hood 11, an ignition furnace 1, a heat keeping hood 12 and the like to effect the sintering of the pellets 14. When cooling water is made to flow through a cooling water passage 8, provided between the inner and outer double walls 2a, 2b of a steel skin 2 in the ignition furnace 1, upon sintering, the life of the ignition furnace may be elongated. On the other hand, clinkers, produced and dropped on the raw pellets 14 on the movable grating 13, are small blocks during operation and the amount of the blocks, to which pieces of refractory material are adhered, may be reduced. Further, a trouble in which the clinkers are dropped on the raw pellets 14 and are pinched between the upper surface 15 of the raw pellets 14 and the lower end 16 of the outlet side of the ignition furnace thereby blockading a space between the same, is reduced.
