PURPOSE:To obtain the titled material to suppress carrying of food poisoning bacterium in edible fowl, containing an antibody specific to the food poisoning bacterium prepared from an egg produced from a hen having been previously inoculated with the food poisoning bacterium and immunized against the bacterium. CONSTITUTION:A food poisoning bacterium such as Salmonella or Campylobacter and optionally an adjuvant (preferably water-in-oil emulsion type such as complete Freund's adjuvant) are inoculated into a mature hen. After the hen is immunized and a specific antibody is contained in an egg, the egg produced by the hen is collected. The whole egg or the yolk is stirred into an emulsion and then dried or a fraction containing the antibody is isolated from the emulsion and dried into powder to give the aimed material to suppress carrying of food poisoning bacterium. The material is administered to edible fowls at a relatively low concentration in the whole growth period or at relatively high concentration in a period corresponding to a stopping period of antibiotic administration before shipment of edible fowls to suppress carrying of food poisoning bacterium.
