pA bore hole pump which eliminates the need for a piston sealingly engaging with the walls of the pump body. The pump comprises a hollow body (11) closed at its lower end by a non-return inlet valve (13) and slidably and sealingly supporting at its upper end, via a seal (16), a reciprocating riser pipe (14) which is likewise closed at its lower end by a non-return valve (15).
