ABSTRACTThe invention relates to a dry pigment composition used forproducing a film coating or sugar coating of such items aspharmaceutical tablets, confectionary pieces and the like. Theinvention also has valuable application to the internal coloring ofcandy. The composition comprises powdered edible pigment particlesand a dispersing agent which prevents agglomerization and facilitatesdispersion into solution. A typical dry film coating compositioncomprises lake pigment particles and a small quantity of sodiumcitrate.
