Method for the transmission of evaluation and test signals for traffic metering in traffic metering installations

The evaluation signals supplied by traffic metering sensors (VS1 to VSn) and used for metering traffic on telephone lines (FML1 to FMLn) and the test signals obtained in the traffic metering sensors in the course of a diagnostic operation are transmitted jointly to a central metering unit (ZER) via a transmission line (e.g. UEL1) used for TDM operation, in sequential TDM frames. The synchronising words occurring together with the signal bits within the TDM frames are transmitted in successive TDM frames alternately in the normal position and in the inverse position. In the TDM frames each with a synchronising word in the normal position, the evaluation signals provided by the traffic metering sensors (VS1 to VSn) are transmitted. In a similar manner, in each of the TDM frames each with a synchronising word in the inverse position the test signals obtained in the traffic metering sensors occur. IMAGE
