the treatment of solutions of chromium (iii) in sulfuric acid solution containing nitric acid, as they occur during the oxidative purification of flue gas, and this difficulty is very expensive. the aim of the invention is to create a process in which the cost of current for electrolysis.the process according to the invention for the electrochemical oxidation of chromium (iii) solution in sulfuric acid solutions of chromium vi is, for the most part, the nitric acid, sulfuric acid and chromium are contained in the electrolyte.nitric acid is used as a carrier for the oxygen electrode for redox cathode and the nitric acid is regenerated by oxygen. carbon or graphite is used as a material of the cathode. the anode electrodes are used with a high oxygen overvoltage such as lead dioxide.the tension of the cell can be obtained in these conditions ranging from 0.9 to 2 volts. this means that the cost of current for electrolysis is reduced to about 1 / 3.
