A monoclonal antibody against human pancreatic amylase having a specific reactivity against human pancreatic amylase but completely no or almost no reactivity against human salivary amylase, a process for preparing a monoclonal antibody against human pancreatic amylase, which comprises forming hybridomas by fusion between antibody-producing cells of mice immunized with human pancreatic amylase and myeloma cells of mice, and culturing the hybridomas to collect monoclonal antibody against human pancreatic amylase from culture medium, and a process for immunologically determining human pancreatic amylase by employing the monoclonal antibody with specificity against human pancreatic amylase.;According to the monoclonal antibody and the process of the present invention, only human pancreatic amylase can be selectively determined in a precise and rapid way in the determination of amylase for diagnosis of pancreatic diseases.
