The building concrete floor (1) is supported on the inner wall (4) of the cavity wall (2), and a panel of thermal insulation (5) is interposed between the inner and outer walls (3). The insulation panel is supported by a plate (15) which is attached to the vertical arms of L-shaped steel members. The L-shaped members form part of the reinforcement of the concrete floor, and the plate serves as a shuttering end wall for the concrete. The plate remains in place after the concrete has set and the other shuttering parts has been removed. ADVANTAGE - Low-cost erection.
