The shuttering consists of sheet iron plates (2) which can be flat or shaped, having at least one curved edge (3) enabling successive plates to be interlocked. Attached to the plates are hooks (4) which loop over the small section transverse reinforcement positioned on a spacer (5). The shuttering is permanent and forms the base of the slab and the longitudinal reinforcement. The construction method is simple and consists merely of fitting the plates together so that they interlock and span between the floor support walls, then positioning the transverse reinforcement if it is required, and pouring on the concrete.
