The waste water pipe system is tested with compressed air for sealing integrity. The testing system does not fill pipes with water and it is readily handled under rough conditions of pipe laying work. Compressed air is pumped into the pipe section to be tested which is sealed by end closures. The testing pressure within the pipe system moves a liquid in a tank connected to a measuring tube. On the end sealing plate (3) of the tested pipe (11) is fitted a tube from a compressed air compressor. The pipe (11) has also a tube (5) connected to the liquid holding tank (7). The bottom of this tank is connected to a measuring tube (8) with a scale (10). This measuring tube projects above the liquid tank.
