Bridge-laying unit having armoured laying vehicle and bridge-part feeding wheeled vehicle

Development work during the course of a project for providing bridge means and crossing means has shown that the integration of an armoured bridge layer in a large-scale family concept is opposed by a number of problems. A too extensive logistic precondition here counteracts the optimisation in the special area of responsibility. A bridge-laying unit (1) for laying a bridge (4) which is supported at the end on the ground (10) and comprises at least two bridge parts (5, 6) is proposed, the feed wheeled vehicle (3) being provided with an armoured driver's cab (8) and with a front coupling device (9), in which a rear swivelling arm (11) of the armoured laying vehicle engages for coupling the feed wheeled vehicle to the armoured laying vehicle during the bridge-laying operation. In this arrangement, the feed wheeled vehicle is supported at the front and at the rear by means of laterally arranged levelling supports. By this means, bridge lengths of up to 40 m can be realised. The laying of the bridges takes place under full armoured protection quickly and reliably with a relatively low investment of economic means. IMAGE
