A push-pull amplifying circuit with a single cycle output (SEPP) is energised to drive a load via an amplified output of a driver circuit. A separate current source for the driver circuit, and a second current source for the SEPP circuit are provided. A basic voltage of the first current source varies in accordance with the SEPP circuit output. The supply voltage from the first current source is adjusted to a lower value than that from the second current source. Pref. two terminals of the first transformer secondary in the first current source are coupled to driver transistors. The SEFF circuit output votlage is applied as the basic voltage to the transformer secondary middle tap. ADVANTAGE - Reduced source voltage of driver circuit for increased driver output of SEPP circuit.
