MUSE SIGNAL DECODER AND DEFLECTION CIRCUIT WITH MUSE SIGNAL DECODER

PURPOSE:To automatically combinedly use two monitors suitable for respective two video signals each different in characteristics as one monitor by providing a function to output a control signal to indicate that the video signal is the one obtained by decoding a MUSE signal to a decoding side simultaneously with the video signal. CONSTITUTION:A MUSE indicating signal generating circuit 37 is provided for a decoder part, and when a synchronous processing circuit 35 synchronized with the MUSE signal from a terminal 1, for example, the control signal to be High in a DC way is outputted. At a monitor side, horizontal scanning for this control signal is switched by the output of a detecting circuit, and while an operation to make an aspect ratio into approximately 16:9 is executed when the control signal is not detected, the horizontal scanning is made larger so that the aspect ratio can be approximately 18:9 when the control signal is detected. Thus, the monitor can be used by a high definition television signal and the signal obtained by decoding the MUSE signal in a combined way.
