The decision circuit null of the color difference signal processing mode which is used for the MUSE decoder and the said MUSE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent longitudinal stripe disturbance due to difference from a processing system between an encoder and a decoder from being caused by identifying and selecting whether a color difference signal is processed by a conventional system or a new system. SOLUTION: A signal subject to MUSE decoder input processing received by an input terminal 1 is fed to a conventional system moving image processing system 2 and a new system moving image processing system 7 respectively, where the signal is processed. An output of the conventional system moving image processing system 2 is fed to a selector 14 through a timing matching field memory 44 of the new system moving image processing system 7. The output of the new system moving image processing system 7 is fed to the selector 14 and a system decision circuit 15. The system decision circuit 15 uses the processing result of the new system moving image processing system 7 to decide the MUSE system and selects an output of the selector 14 based on the decision result. The selector 14 selects an output of the conventional system moving image processing system 2 or the output of the new system moving image processing system 7 to provide an output from the output terminal to a static moving image mixture section of the MUSE decoder.
