DRUG FOR INCREASING ADENOSINE 5'-TRIPHOSPHATE LEVEL IN BLOOD AND PLASMA CONTAINING ADENINE NUCLEOTIDE AS EFFECTIVE COMPONENT

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject medicine containing adenosine5'-monophosphate or a derivative thereof as an active ingredient, capable of suppressing the growth of and destructing tumor cells without attacking normal cells. CONSTITUTION: This medicine contains adenosine5'-monophosphate, a pharmaceutically permissible salt thereof, a chelate thereof or a radioactive nucleus kind thereof, and further adenosine5'-diphosphate and/or adenosine5'-triphosphate as an active ingredient, and can increase the adenosine5'-triphosphate level in the blood or plasma of a host to suppress the growth of tumor cells. The medicine can also substantially suppress the body weight loss caused by a cancer cachexia. The administering amount of the active ingredient is in 1-1000mg/kg body weight range in the case of an oral or a local administration, and in the case of an intravenous, an intraperitoneal or an intraarterial administration, it is preferable to administer a dose of 1-1000mg/kg body weight at a rate of 0.001-15mg/kg body weight.
