PURPOSE:To enable the mutual conversion between the light emission control signal of a light source color and three stimulation values of body color CIE by an actual CRT and an observation system for the body color by setting color comparison environment wherein the light source color and the body color in a colorless background. CONSTITUTION:The light source color A which is sensed as an isochromatic color by eye observation is displayed in a toning area 6 on a CRT screen 1 and light emission control signals for the light source color A are denoted as RC, GC, and BC. Then a selected standard color 4 is such a color that none of the RC, GC, and BC is zero. Then the three stimulation values of the body color B and the signals RC, GC, and BC are used to determine undecided coefficients KR, KG, and KB from an equation, and the coefficients KR, KG, and KB are used to perform the mutual conversion between the light emission control signals and CIE tristimulus values of the body color. In the equation, f1-f3 show a function of conversion of the signals RC, GC, and BC to the actual light emission brightness of the CRT color display.
