PURPOSE: To manufacture a fluoropolymer at a high productivity by casting a halopolymer film on a carrier belt having a low thermal mass. CONSTITUTION: A carrier belt 1 is dipped through an artificial dispersion 2 in a dipping tank 3 at a base of a casting tower 100, and a dispersion coating tank 2' is formed on the belt. Then, the belt 1 to be coated is passed through a metering zone 4 to remove an excess dispersion from the belt by a metering rod 5. Thereafter, the belt is passed into a drying zone 6 held at a temperature sufficient to a dry film by removing a vehicle from the dispersion, and then passed to a baking/melting zone 7 of a temperature sufficient to consolidate or melt a fluoropolymer in the dispersion. Eventually, the belt is passed through a cooling plenum 8, directed to next dipping tank, and a layer is further formed on the film or directed toward a releasing unit.
