PURPOSE:To enable inspection of a feed indication accuracy of a probe type shaft measuring machine at a high accuracy by combing a roller gauge with a block gauge each with a clear dimension accuracy. CONSTITUTION:A block gauge assembly 14 is provided with a block gauge 30 (30A-30H) projected at the upper end thereof and a block gauge 31 (31A-31G) projected at the lower end thereof alternately adjacent to one another. As a roller 16 (16A-16G) is disposed at a recess above the assembly 14 to be energized downward to the left with a spring 36, it contacts a reference surface 12B and a wall surface on the right of a convex of the block gauge 30. Then, the block gauges 30 and 31 and the roller gauge 16 are traced with a probe of a probe type shape measuring machine to record a shape thereof to determine a center-to-center distance of the roller gauge 16 from a drawing recorded. A value of the distance is compared with the center-to-center distance of the roller gauge 16 calculated from the prescribed dimensions of the block gages 30 and 31 and the roller gauge 16 to inspect a feed indication accuracy of the probe type shape measuring machine.
