PURPOSE:To reduce surface roughness of a cold rolled sheet by using a scratch dull roll which has scratch flaws in the roll peripheral direction and whose surface roughness in the axial direction is specific value for former rollings including a 1st stand in cold rolling stages. CONSTITUTION:As for cold rolling of a grain oriented silicon steel sheet by two times cold rolling method, a scratch dull roll, which has scratch flaws in the roll peripheral direction and whose surface roughness Ra in the roll axial direction is =0.3mum, is used as a work roll in former rollings including at least a 1st stand in a 2nd cold rolling stage. Hence, even if oxidized scales are generated during an intermediate annealing time, the scales are effectively broken and easily removed. Rolling oil is also effectively discharged because groove are formed on a surface of steel sheet in the rolling direction.
