UNITED DEFINITION/CONTROL SYSTEM FOR TERMINAL ATTRIBUTE INFORMATION

PURPOSE:To update terminal attribute information without stopping an operating on-line information processing system by providing the system with an attribute information table, a terminal control table, an updating flag, a terminal attribute information table updating means, and a terminal attribute informing means. CONSTITUTION:The system is provided with the attribute information table 6 for unitedly defining/controlling one or more terminal attribute information relating to a terminal equipment 3, the terminal control table 5 for controlling correspondence between the terminal equipment 3 and the terminal attribute information in the table 6, the updating flag 9, and the terminal attribute information table updating means 7. Only when information indicating the updating of both the tables 6, 5 is not set up in the updating flag 9 in the case of executing data transfer processing between an on-line information processing program 1 and the terminal equipment 3, the terminal attribute informing means 8 retrieves both the tables 5, 6, acquires the terminal attribute information relating to the terminal equipment 3 and informs the acquired information to the program 1. Consequently, the attribute information can be updated without stopping the operating on-line information processing system.
