PURPOSE:To accurately and efficiently form projections having a large section and to improve the yield by filling up an extruded bar formed into a prescribed sectional shape by passing the bar through a die hole into a space formed in back of a die. CONSTITUTION:A billet 5 is pushed to form an extruded bar 7 having a prescribed sectional shape by a die hole 6. After extrusion of a given length of the bar 7, a movable die 3 is moved to a movement blocking position against the bar 7 and the billet 5 is pushed to form a projected part 7a for which the bar 7 is filled in a space 8. By that method, projected parts 7a having an optional shape are formed at optional positions.
