TEACHING METHOD FOR CHANGING POSITION OF TOOL

PURPOSE:To teach a proper tool changing position by a simple operation by monitoring the present position of a tool post of the time when the tool post is positioned at a specified tool changing position by a manual operation and taking the present position of this tool post as a tool changing position. CONSTITUTION:An interactive image is displayed on a display device 5a according to each step of plural data input steps and the data specifying the final shape of a part and a tool changing position are input by referring to this interactive image. In case of forming an NC program by using this input data, a tool rest TR is positioned by moving to a specified tool changing position by a manual operation and the present position of the tool rest TR of this time is monitored. This present position is taken as the tool changing position by a specified signal and teached.
