PURPOSE:To improve blood coagulability, serum separability and serum yield, by incorporating an anion exchange resin alone or together with an adsorbing inorganic compound, 2,2',4,4'-tetrahydroxybenzophenone, ellagic acid or epicatechin in blood. CONSTITUTION:An anion exchange resin, preferably a water-insoluble polymer containing an amino group having anion exchangeability, such as a quaternary, tertiary, secondary or primary amino group, is incorporated in blood. Preferred anion exchange resins are those having a total ion exchange capacity of 2.5-6.0 milli ion eq. per gram of dry ion exchange resin and particularly preferable is the one having quaternary amino group in the range of 3.5-4.5 milli ion eq. The combined use of the anion exchange resin and an adsorbing inorganic compound, 2,2',4,4'-tetrahydroxybenzophenone, ellagic acid or epicatechin enhances the effect of the promotion of the blood coagulation.
