A soya-bean prepn. of equivalent food value to meat, has unlimited shelf-life when dessicated and is immediately reusable when rehydrated. Soya beans are soaked for four hours and boiled for two hours minimum. Cooked beans freed from the cooking liq. are pureed; 16-22 pref. 18-20, wt.% gluten flour is added, as well as 3wt.% max. pref. 2-3wt.% salt and/or 3wt.% max. pref. 1-2wt.% flavourings. Prior to forming it into shapes, the prepn. is homogenised and allowed to stand for 0.5-5 pref. 3-4 hours.
