The process comprises mixing and homogenising for at lest 3 hours in a mixer, of below 90 microns powder of electrolytic manganese dioxide with spheroidal electrographite and below 40 microns powder of polytetrafluoroethylene or polyethylene. The relative proportions by weight of the constituents are 75, 17.5 and 7.5 per cent. The mixing time and proportions can be varied within narrow limits, and the depolarising mixt. is pressed in a 0.5-1 tf/cm2 die. The electrodes are suitable for use in MnO2-Zn alkali cells with relatively high electric current characteristcs.
