A picture is taken in by binoculars in a first prism (13) at a specific angle. It is reflected twice, and it passes via an air gap to a second prism (12), and then into a third prism (11). Here it achieves a total reflection, and a reflection into a beam divider layer. - The beam divider layer is located between the third prism and a fourth prism (10). These latter prisms form a parallel plate fitted in front of an eye-piece (5) aperture.
