ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURENovel thermoplastic polyester compositions havingimproved impact behavior are produced. These compositionscomprise a blend of poly (C2-C4 alkylene terephthalate) withcertain low molecular weight diepoxide resins having a molecularweight between about 350 and about 2,100 and consistingessentially of at least one condensation product of bisphenol Aor brominated bisphenol A and epihalohydrin and represented bythe general formula (I): Formula (I)wherein X is bromine or hydrogen and n is an average number abovezero and less than about 2.3, a triphenyl phosphonium halidecatalyst, and a multiphase composite polymer. The multiphasepolymer has a first elastomeric phase polymerized from a monomersystem including butadiene or butadiene/styrene and a finalrigid thermoplastic phase polymerized in the presence of theelastomeric phase.
