A METHOD OF REGENERATING SOYBEANS FROMCULTURED SOYBEAN COTYLEDONARY NODESABSTRACTThe present invention is directed to amethod of regenerating soybean plants from callusculture. Briefly, the method comprises the followingsteps:a. germinating soybean seeds on nutrientmedium containing a cytokinin to produce a donor plant;b. excising the cotyledonary node regionfrom said donor plant;c. culturing the excised nodal tissue ona nutrient medium containing a cytokinin until callustissue develops which contains shoots; andd. removing said shoots from said callusand rooting said shoots in nutrient medium free fromexogenous hormone to form a plantlet.
