The invention relates to a device for the suspended guiding of material webs by air blown against the material web. The device consists of above and below the material web 1 and staggered blow boxes 2-6. Each blow box 2-6 has two opposite rows of blow-out openings 21, the blowing direction of which includes an acute angle a2 with a guide surface 25, 26, which adjoins the edge of the blow-out opening 21 facing away from the material web 1. The guide surface 25 also forms an acute angle a3 with the material web 1. The two acute angles a2, a3 are selected such that the air blown out of the blow-out openings 21 is deflected off the guide surfaces 25 and directed against the material web 1, where it spreads out in the form of a source flow 30. In this way, both a strong air cushion supporting the material web 1 and a high heat transfer to the material web 1 as well as a defined outflow of the blown air from the air cushion are achieved.
