Monoclonal antibodies recognizing REG proteins

PURPOSE:To improve the diagnosis and remedy of colon cancer by recognizing a reg protein which is human and/or rat reg protein. CONSTITUTION:(A) An antibody-producing cell produced by immunizing a mouse, etc., with a fused protein obtained by the fusion of a reg protein and human IFNgamma is fused with (B) a desired myeloma cell and the fused cell is screened to obtain (C) hybridoma REG 5, REG 17, REG 30, HREG NI and HREG 9. The component C is cultured e.g. in Dalbecco's modified medium containing bovine fetus serum for 3-5 days. The supernatant of the obtained cultured product is purified by ammonium sulfate fractionation, gel-filtration, etc., to obtain (D) a monoclonal antibody recognizing a reg protein selected from monoclonal antibody REG 5, REG 17, REG 30, HREG NI and HREG 9. As necessary, reg protein is immunologically determined by sandwich EIA method, etc., using the component D.
