Connection between two pipes with thin walls - consists of outward protruding beading on outer pipe outside surface and inward protruding beading on inner pipes

The connection between two interfitting thin-walled pipes (2,3) has one end of the outer pipe (2) being wider (11). The outward-protruding beading (13) on the outside of the outer pipe (2) runs with axes at right angles to the lengthwise axes (A) of the pipes (2,3) and has one or more openings (14). One or more stop-bolts (15,16') fit into the beading (13) by which the two pipes (2,3) interconnect. The end of the wide part (11) on the outer pipe (2) acts as a stop-piece (13) for securing the inner pipe (3). The end of the inner pipe (3) has an inward-protruding beading (16) round it on a level with the beading (13) on the inner pipe (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - The two interfitting pipes are joined without tools or machines.
