The exhaust pipe assembly (1), for an internal combustion motor, has a flange (14) at one end of the hollow pipe (2). The exhaust pipe has a double-wall structure, with an outer mantle (3) and an inner pipe mantle (4) which is carried out over the end of the outer mantle at the flange. The end of the inner mantle is bent outwards to form a beading (9) around the bottom edge (8) of the outer mantle, and grip against its outer surface (15). The two mantles, together with the lower beading, are pushed into the flange, and the outer circumference of the outer mantle is welded to the flange by a single fillet weld (16) around it.
