Device for measuring the cold gas temperature above or on the top shield of a reactor core by means of thermocouples which are guided from the outside through the roof (ceiling) of the prestressed concrete vessel surrounding the reactor core. The conductors of the thermocouples are arranged distributed in an encapsulation which is sealed off gas-tight from the outside, and the thermocouple conductors can be moved or pivoted essentially radially inside the encapsulation. In addition, the thermocouples are guided out laterally to the measurement points from the inner end of the encapsulation. The diameter of the surface area of the achievable measurement points is larger than the diameter of the circle on the circumference of which the thermocouple conductors are arranged in the encapsulation.
