The invention relates to a braided product for producing wreaths and corresponding decorative articles, which braided product (27) exhibits a plurality of braidings which are joined together. For easy storage and transportation of the braided product (27) and for easy and rapid production of a decorative article therefrom, the braided product is characterised in that it exhibits at least one wire (6, 7) which holds it together and joins the individual braidings of the braided product together. The invention also relates to a process for producing a braided product (27) which exhibits a plurality of braidings which have been joined together. The process is principally characterised in that the braidings are drawn onto at least one needle (1-4), along which needle a wire (6, 7) runs, whereupon the needle (1-4) is removed such that the wire (6, 7) remains in the braided product, said braided product being held together by the abovementioned wire (6, 7).
