Impurity control on printing rollers - uses CCD cameras to monitor roller surfaces by comparing actual with stipulated image pixel-wise

The surfaces of the print rollers are monitored by CCD cameras (9) to check for impurities, dust, etc. The images are compared with reference images to clean rollers and if impurities are detected the processor control operates the cleaning scrapers (8) on the inking rollers (3). The images are compared by a simple process control pixel by pixel. The monitoring system operates in all the colours. ADVANTAGE - Improved quality colour prints; simple monitoring system.
